Family nurse practitioner Maggie Vitcavich brings to our practice more than two years of providing compassionate, professional patient care. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, she gained invaluable experience serving patients and assisting their families as a registered nurse specializing in pediatric intensive care at a level 1 trauma center in New York.
After earning a master’s degree in nursing in 2021 from Dominican College School of Nursing in Orangeburg, New York, Maggie became a nurse practitioner at Advocare Aroesty Ear Nose and Throat Associates in Denville, NJ, where she helped patients and their families manage acute and chronic illnesses related to the ear, nose and throat (ENT). Her responsibilities included the diagnosis, treatment and management of allergies, tonsilitis, sleep apnea, eustachian tube issues and GERD; diagnosing, analyzing and reviewing comprehensive audiology examination results; and performing office procedures such as flexible fiber laryngoscopies and nasopharyngoscopies.
Maggie received her bachelor’s degree in nursing, cum laude, from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY. She went on to work for five years in the trauma center pediatric intensive care unit at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. There she became proficient in all levels of critical care skills including tending to traumatic injuries, administering chemotherapy, assisting with pain management and palliative care, and tending to post-anesthesia recovery.
Committed to evidence-based practices, advanced education and continued professional growth, she is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Maggie will be part of the team at North Jersey Gastroenterology, a division of GANJ, in Wayne, NJ. (link to njgastro.com)
